Fans Call for Arrest of Individual Who Grabbed Ariana Grande
Loyal followers of the pop star are calling for that a person who jumped a fence and seized the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or expelled from Singapore.
A widely shared video shows the Australian man shoving aside camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the cast walked down a event pathway accompanied by fans.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the shocked performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the premiere by guards.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being arrested", though legal records showed that he was scheduled to be present on the next day. It is uncertain if he was charged.
Pattern of Event Invasions
This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile features clips of him disrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in recently and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last December.
"Steps should be implemented applied against him as this is clearly a punishable act," wrote an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user wrote.
Fans Show Disapproval Over Ariana's Well-being
Numerous fans blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed experiencing PTSD after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming hundreds.
"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" said a further response on Instagram.
A number of supporters also criticised security officers at the premiere for not being sufficiently alert; while different individuals requested social media platforms to block Mr Wen's content.
Aftermath and Premiere Information
