The striking aspect after Hearts surged 3-1 in front was how stress-free the closing stages of the game was for the Tynecastle team. Kyziridis netted the second goal, moving infield before thumping a right-footed shot past the stationary Kasper Schmeichel. More joy followed in the stands, the Celtic defender bringing down the Hearts player for a spot-kick that the captain tucked away. The Celtic manager cut such a disconsolate figure; his problems are mounting.

Celtic's Response
The away side responded positively from an early setback. The defender, who had a difficult day, scored an own goal due to haste when trying to deal with a ball into the box. They gradually fought back into the game, skipper McGregor, finishing a Tierney pull-back for level terms.
Stubborn Defence
The Hearts goalkeeper Schwolow, who had made a brilliant stop from Benjamin Nygren in the first half, blocked an Arne Engels shot which flicked off Magnússon. Craig Halkett blocked a Shin Yamada attempt in added time. The hosts faced little else as the minutes passed. “We stand firm” has become the favoured chant at the stadium. One cannot overlook the noise.
