The City of Angels witnessed citywide festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-game World Series title. Fans worldwide joined Angelenos in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a franchise has secured back-to-back championships.
Victory Parade Draws Massive Turnout
Los Angeles area events featured a downtown parade on the morning of the parade, a ticketed rally at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.
Social media videos show thousands of Angelenos packing city center avenues, many carrying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The team was seen traveling proudly on a open-top bus through the crowds, raising the Commissioner’s trophy high.
“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to achieve this,” the star player remarked through an interpreter.
The procession path ended at Dodger Stadium, where the players emerged to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ spinning music and the artist cruising a Pacific blue vintage Cadillac around the stadium’s outfield.

Festivities started well before the parade, with Dodgers fans lighting fireworks in the roads of Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night.

In contrast, Mark Walter was met with a cooler reception at the celebration. Video footage from the event seem to depict Walter walking onstage to a combination of cheers and boos, with jeers punctuating his speech.
The championship acted as a positive moment in what has been a challenging year for Los Angeles. An approximate quarter-million people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, fans this year showed equal or greater enthusiasm.
“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” he remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a involved in this.”
